Terms for using OwnerSide
Effective September 3, 2026
These Terms of Service and End-User License Agreement ("Terms") govern access to and use of OwnerSide LLC's websites, software, connected-account features, review services, reports, and related offerings (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, connecting a third-party service, purchasing or using the Service, or otherwise accepting these Terms, you agree to them on behalf of yourself and, if applicable, the business or organization you represent.
1. Business service and eligibility
OwnerSide is intended primarily for business customers, property owners, and authorized representatives. You represent that you are legally able to enter into these Terms and, if acting for an organization, that you have authority to bind that organization.
2. Limited license
Subject to these Terms and any applicable order or subscription, OwnerSide grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use the Service for your internal business purposes. You may not copy, resell, sublicense, reverse engineer, bypass security controls, misuse credentials, interfere with the Service, or use the Service to violate law or the rights of others.
3. Your account and authorized users
You are responsible for keeping account credentials secure, for activity performed through your account, and for ensuring that users you authorize have appropriate permission to access the data they provide or connect. You must promptly notify OwnerSide of suspected unauthorized access or misuse.
4. Customer data and permissions
You retain ownership of information and records you submit or authorize OwnerSide to retrieve. You grant OwnerSide the limited rights necessary to host, process, analyze, compare, secure, and otherwise use that information to provide the Service, support your account, improve reliability and quality, and meet legal or security obligations.
You represent that you have the rights and authority necessary to provide or connect the information you make available to OwnerSide, including information about properties, tenants, vendors, employees, lenders, financial accounts, and accounting systems.
5. Plaid, QuickBooks, and third-party integrations
The Service may allow you to connect third-party platforms such as Plaid, financial institutions, and QuickBooks Online. Those services are also governed by their own terms and privacy practices. By initiating a connection, you authorize OwnerSide and the applicable provider to exchange the information you select or permit for the requested OwnerSide service.
OwnerSide uses QuickBooks Online and connected financial data as evidence sources. OwnerSide does not use Plaid to initiate payments or move funds and does not use its QuickBooks connection to post accounting entries to your books unless a future service expressly states otherwise and you separately authorize it.
6. Reviews, findings, and professional judgment
OwnerSide compares information you provide or connect, identifies potential discrepancies or exceptions, and may produce findings, reports, or recommendations. The Service is designed to support owner decision-making; it does not guarantee that every error, fraud, legal issue, tax issue, accounting issue, or operational problem will be detected.
Unless expressly agreed in writing for a specific engagement, OwnerSide is not acting as your attorney, auditor, tax preparer, broker, lender, investment adviser, or property manager. You remain responsible for business decisions and for obtaining appropriate legal, tax, accounting, lending, insurance, or other professional advice when needed.
7. Fees, billing, and cancellation
Paid services are billed according to the pricing, order, proposal, or subscription terms presented to you. Unless otherwise stated, fees are non-refundable once the applicable review or service work has materially begun. Subscription customers may cancel future renewal through the available account controls or by contacting OwnerSide. Cancellation does not erase previously accrued charges.
8. Privacy, retention, and deletion
OwnerSide handles information as described in our Privacy Policy. Customers may disconnect integrations without necessarily deleting the entire OwnerSide profile. Verified account owners may request or initiate account and data deletion, subject to limited retention required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, billing, dispute, or other legitimate obligations.
9. Confidentiality and security
OwnerSide uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect sensitive information. You agree not to attempt to defeat security controls, access another customer's information, introduce malicious code, or use the Service in a manner that creates unreasonable security risk.
10. Intellectual property
OwnerSide and its licensors retain all rights in the Service, software, workflows, branding, designs, documentation, and other materials that are not customer data. Feedback you voluntarily provide may be used by OwnerSide to improve the Service without restriction or compensation, provided OwnerSide does not thereby acquire ownership of your underlying customer data.
11. Suspension and termination
OwnerSide may suspend or terminate access for material breach, nonpayment, unlawful activity, abuse, security risk, or conduct that threatens the Service or other customers. You may stop using the Service at any time, subject to payment obligations and the data-retention provisions described in the Privacy Policy.
12. Service availability and disclaimers
OwnerSide works to provide a reliable and secure Service, but the Service may occasionally be unavailable, delayed, incomplete, or affected by third-party systems. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, and OwnerSide disclaims warranties not expressly stated in a signed agreement.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OwnerSide will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, business opportunities, goodwill, or data arising from use of the Service. Except for obligations that cannot legally be limited, OwnerSide's aggregate liability arising out of the Service will not exceed the amounts you paid OwnerSide for the applicable Service during the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
14. Changes to the Service or Terms
OwnerSide may update the Service and these Terms as the business, providers, or legal requirements change. Material updates will be posted with a revised effective date. Continued use after an effective update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms where permitted by law.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Unless applicable law requires otherwise, disputes relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought in state or federal courts located in King County, Washington.
